Hugo Corbin , French guitarist and composer, has forged a unique path between modern jazz, atmospheric rock, and cinema. After a well-received debut album, Inner Roads (2019), he returns in March 2025 with Room To Dream , an album of rich and contemplative atmospheres, released by Quai Son Records .

A musical journey between islands, cities and images

Born in Martinique, and raised on the music of his singer mother and the sounds of rock, Hugo discovered jazz upon returning to mainland France thanks to a clarinetist from New Orleans. He trained at the American School of Modern Music and the Noisiel Conservatory , before playing in London and then New York, where he studied with Vic Juris , Jonathan Kreisberg , and Steve Cardenas . These experiences nurtured a sensitive style of writing, influenced by ECM , Pink Floyd , and art-house cinema.

A dreamlike and cinematic jazz

Back in Paris, Hugo founded his quartet and developed a personal sound, blending ethereal atmospheres with modern jazz textures. He also collaborates as a sideman with Monika Kabasele , Camille Laïly , Xenos , and the BCC Trio . Room To Dream confirms his vision: free, elegant, and deeply evocative music.
