A renowned jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and teacher, Ludovic de Preissac has established himself as a key figure on the French jazz scene. Nurtured from childhood by a dual musical culture of classical and jazz, he developed a unique artistic identity at a very early age.
From classical piano to Parisian clubs
Trained in classical piano by his harpist mother, he discovered jazz at 15 thanks to his clarinetist father. After studying music at the Sèvres high school and obtaining his BT (Brevet de Technicien) in Music Professions, he began his career in Parisian clubs and piano bars. Sought after by musicians such as Maxime Saury and Stéphane Guérault , he honed his skills while exploring musical composition.
Modern composer and committed educator
His trio and then his quintet allowed him to express a more contemporary style of writing, which has been performed at numerous festivals. He collaborates with Jean-Loup Longnon and American artists (Bob Mintzer, Eddy Daniels, etc.). His projects include arrangements for Big Band, a reinterpretation of West Side Story , and L'Enjeu des Paradoxes (The Stakes of Paradoxes ). Holding the CA (Certificat d'Aptitude), he teaches at the Conservatories of Troyes and Issy-les-Moulineaux , and leads workshops throughout France.
