Everyone is familiar with bassist Nicola Sabato's efforts to spread the good word of jazz in its most exciting form. With vibraphonist Jacques Di Costanzo, he reinvents this repertoire as only true jazz lovers know how: with fidelity to the groove, a desire to play, and a passion for sharing.

A respected sideman, Nicola Sabato has played with Jeff Hamilton, Tamir Hendelman, Craig Handy, Kirk Lightsey, Ted Curson, Harry Allen, Florin Niculescu, Jesse Davis… An inspired leader, he has released six superb albums showcasing a musical universe with a clear aesthetic vision: deep groove, playfully inventive arrangements, a sense of the blues and collective enthusiasm… His latest album, California Hang, recorded in Los Angeles with the cream of Californian jazz, offers a perfect demonstration of this.

He once again applies this passion to swing with Jacques di Costanzo, an exceptional vibraphonist equally impressive at a dizzying tempo as on a sensitive and moving ballad. His compositional skills and stylistic versatility, acquired in particular during his seven years in Latin America, are essential assets that Jacques brings to the quartet.

Accompanied by pianist Patrick Cabon (Scott Hamilton, Joe Magnarelli, Alvin Queen,…) and Valentin Martel (drummer with a very solid and communicative swing), the two leaders work wonders in radiant jubilation.
