With La Belle Vie , his third album, Fanou Torracinta fully affirms his place in the Gypsy jazz scene. The Corsican guitarist, remaining loyal to his collaborators William Brunard, Benji Winterstein, and Bastien Brison, offers a tight-knit quartet driven by a supple and luminous swing.
Inspired by Django Reinhardt without ever resorting to imitation, he favors lyricism, nuance, and a sensitivity nurtured by his Corsican roots. The album alternates between elegantly chosen covers and original compositions, ranging from waltzes and melodic flourishes to more intimate moments, revealing a remarkable maturity and finesse for a musician under thirty.
