Dominik Wania, a leading jazz pianist on the Polish scene and winner of five Fryderyk Awards, first gained recognition alongside the legendary jazzman Tomasz Stańko. His world lies at the crossroads of jazz and European classical music, drawing inspiration from composers such as Górecki, Szymanowski, Ravel, Prokofiev, Scriabin, and Satie. Lonely Shadows is the first solo album by a Polish musician released by ECM Records, one of the world's most prestigious labels. For this performance, he offers a largely improvised musical journey, where classical influences converse with his jazz idiom and the sonic explorations developed in his solo work.
