Partnering with leading figures in gypsy jazz, Thomas Dutronc's violinist presents a new album entirely sung in French on stage.
To reveal her innermost feelings – without abandoning her strings or bow – she notably called upon lyricist Boris Bergman (author of Alain Bashung's "Oh Gaby"). The intimate nature of the chosen musical formula (violin, guitar, double bass) does not preclude a wide variety of colors and moods (from pop-folk to blues, by way of swing and gypsy music).
While Aurore Voilqué has never hesitated to showcase her lovely, delicate voice, she was primarily known as a violinist. With this new album, she takes the plunge, offering for the first time an entire album where her voice takes center stage.
“The virtuoso violinist gives way to the impressionistic singer, and the combination of the two is a complete success. Aurora once again takes center stage, triumphant.” – Rhoda Scott
